To Be Loved?

I no longer sigh at the turn of a new month,
It is neither the start nor the end.
I no longer smile when they ask me out,
It is neither heart-warming nor heart breaking.
I no longer bother to answer,
It is neither arrogance nor desperation.
I no longer weep myself to sleep,
It’s neither soothing nor edifying.

For I have learnt along the way,
To be loved…..and to be left!

Comment A well written poem. You use the same scheme before the finale, but it doesn't bother the flow. The ending is very strong.

Comment Such words are white marbles of nostalgia and pessimism-I LOVE to read them.
