Fatalistic Philosophy

  One week
there was an announcement
by office infrastructure incharge
that in the weekend
insecticides will be sprayed
in the building.

On joining office on Monday
there was a foul smell
in one wing of one floor
in the office.
Infrastructure was alerted
but they avered
it was the insecticide
that was responsible.

When the stench did not abate,
in fact increased,
infrastructure made some attempts
to discover the source of the foul smell
but gave up.

Another week passed.
People bore it
but made no attempt
till when the AC blower was switched on.
Then the stench assumed such horrible proportions
that the people had to run off yards
away from the building.

It was emergency then
and at last attempts were on full swing
to discover the source of the stench.
And in a short while
the reason was known.

This then must be the result of a fatalistic philosophy
which probably results in nations
getting run over by foreign powers.
