During the autumn days last season
When chill of the winter was in horizon
And the autumnal mist was at sight
On one of those fateful misty nights
In faint canopy of half-lit moonlight
Moon is forlorn, a feeling I had
This made me bit sullen and sad.

During the winter days last season
When chill of the winter was at peak
On one of those frosty cold nights
Under the canopy of dense foggy sky
Standing among the faint twinkling stars
The moon was yet more forlorn and sad
Which made me far more sullen and sad.

But during the springtime last season
When air was fragrant and plants blossomed
Swarm of bees and butterflies roamed around
All life forms were jubilant and merriment
I ventured yet again to peek at full-moon
She was smiling with splendor and shine
It made me too high in spirits and smiles.

No intentions to intrude in your domain
Yet I wish to convey you, O dear moon!
Please don't be gloomy and sad all season
Instead keep glowing with smile and shine
Far you look pretty good in that attire
Besides, I have a sort of 'selfish motive'
Your smile kindles a flame of hope in me.
