Innocence

tuberose.jpg

Rajnigandha

A night blooming plant
Nicknamed by some
'The fragrance of night'
I am so emotionally attached,
It's an antiquity of life.

She is a cute and pretty girl
Her looks and demeanour
Often remind me
Of my reminiscent past.
While in a cheerful mood
I asked her once
What she knew of rajnigandha.
Her reply was prompt and simple
Rajnigandha! It's a 'paan masala'
Of a famous brand.

Stupefied for a moment
What an antithesis!
But I recovered fast
And liked her simplicity
And innocence,
May God bless her.
Being simple and straight
At least makes life
Less complicated,
Easier and happier.

Comment Yes, Aparna Ji, it was a contemporary hit around mid-seventies and I have a liking for it. Thank you very much for 'the link'.
