This remained an enigma
For him for years
Why the dearest friend
Remained so unresponsive
Now and in yesteryears
To his everlasting
Love, affection and care.
One day in silhouette
Her shadow emerged,
Stooped and smiled at him
Oh silly...silly you!
You haven't changed a bit
Over all these years
Can't you unfold this
Not so complex riddle
'The language of silence'
If the circumstances demand
Sometimes life must adapt
And silence then remains
The best response forever.
