No Escape

As I watch from the terrace garden
In the wee hours at dawn in Gangtok
On one of rather cold lazy mornings
Slowly a white cottony roll of fog
Descends down and engulfs the valley
In my quest for quiet and solitude
Suddenly, I feel too isolated and lonely
And get nostalgic about our mutual past
In your haunting memories and thoughts.
In those so utopian surroundings
For a moment looks like time stands still
The fog de-escalates as the time goes on
Oh! what a divine picturesque location
And the panoramic beauty of the valley
The crisp chilled light breeze brushes up
In my reverie against my ears and cheeks
Only to give a sharp tingling sensation
Suddenly, I realize two hours have passed
Engrossed in poignant memories and thoughts.
Coyly, I stretch in a laze and look afar
Allowing my mind to wander away again
A gentle sunshine plays hide and seek
Among those shaded and dark clouds
Now on a blue, now on a grey canvas
As if a reminder of our shared past
Times of the cheers, times of the blues
Smelling so pure and so refreshing air
The mind swirls back and forth in time
Then I realize there is no escape in this life
From your everlasting memories and thoughts.

Yes, there's no escape,
And one doesn't want to!
