In the autumn of his life
He wanted a change of wife
Citing that domestic strife
In their home was ever rife
Her words cut like a sharp knife

In the autumn of her life
She wished to remain his wife
Since she believed that the strife
Was caused by his own high life
Not words that cut like a knife

So to a priest they did go
And after some to and fro
He insisted that old Joe
Return home to stay with Mo
And stop keeping a word score!
