A flirty wind,
Caressing the swaying,
Green Gulmohar,
Gracefully tall,
Slim,
Reaching out to the
Heavily trampled
Earth,
With its slender
Green fingers,
Spreading a parasol
To the sweating commuters
Stranded on the
Broken concrete road,
Waiting for the autos,
On this late-September afternoon
In busy Mumbai;
Nature bountiful,
A great relief in the
Urban desolation,
To the rampaging man,
Raiding
Destroying nature
For making upscale
High-rises,
By destroying
The trees and the
Precious
Mangroves.
