Lovely Wait

  Sauntered I
His thereabouts;
didn’t knock at the door
let eons pass.

I knew my stand,
only to stay there;
for I loved such a waiting,
even He didn’t turn up.

In case He did,
I never thought He knew
how well I loved,
thanks to my faltered words.

Wouldn’t it suffice
He knew I waited just
at His doorsteps—
a la my yesteryear's love's?
