Seshu Chamarty (b. 22 June 1953, Cherla), M.A., LL.B., is an Indian English poet, essayist, translator, columnist, former banker with Andhra Bank, High Court advocate, and former professor at ICFAI University. His writing spans reflective prose, poetry, and cross-cultural literary exchange, with particular engagement in Haiku, Senryu, and haibun.
He contributed opinion pieces on the Op-Ed page and “Time Out” features to The New Indian Express, where his poems also appeared in the Hyderabad edition’s Verse Corner. His poetry and essays have been published in Boloji, Muse India, Sulekha, MSN, and Yahoo.
For over a decade, he served pro bono as editor of the “Your Space” section at Muse India, curating international poetic contributions. He currently works as an English–Telugu legal translator and has translated Telugu poetry and novels by notable writers.
His haiku and senryu have appeared in journals such as World Haiku Review and Shamrock Haiku Journal, and in anthologies published by Forward Press and Anchor Books. He recently recited his English poems at a multilingual literary event at Ravindra Bharathi hosted by the Telangana Department of Language and Culture. He also represented India at a literary event in Amman and was voluntarily associated with the early editions of the Hyderabad Literary Festival. |
