Good Morning, Good Night!

On the hospital bed
In his eighties,
He says good morning
And good night to the nurse
Several times in the day
On each of her visits.

He thinks she is dawn
And dusk in his life
Increasing the days left
God willing, cured of his cancer.

May god bless him
With some real dawns more,
And no sunset yet!

( I wrote this on 22 October 2013, and sadly my father-in-law passed away on 23 October 2013 succumbing to the cancer and heart disease.)
