True love is a kind of pilgrimage
a hazardous journey
and the ideal lovers are the pilgrims
on the highway of love.

While journeying towards
the holy shrine of love
the lovers face
obstacles, impediments
and finally reach the Himalayas
the Kedernath of love.

True love is a process
of purification, multiplication
and sublimation.
the common shortcomings of the lovers
are purified,
good qualities are multiplied
and they are sublimated
to the superhuman status
much beyond the reach of time.

It is a fixity in time-ridden
flux of existence.
The inroads of time
cannot dismantle it.
When the lovers die
it is nothing but
a metamorphosis
from human existence
to the divine.

Because by the sword of love
the lovers conquer
the hearts of the people
of the world
"amor vincit omnia"
