Snowflake Waltz

  Dancing snowflakes drift across my vison;
passing travellers in a storm
of despair. Signalling the end
is close for you and me.

In a whirl of ice crystals the truth
is granted me;
as shards of cold reality pierce
my inner mind and dampness spreads
its tentacles into my extremities.

Two silent hearts frozen
in time, are all that remain
in this world, of these soul mates
from another era;

When not just snowflakes waltzed
to life's hopeful beat.
