Condemn Yourself

Condemn yourself, for walking past silently
With your eyes glued to the ground
When you saw someone else getting
Wolf-whistled.

Condemn yourself if you saw someone
Getting grounded.
Condemn yourself for imposing a
Curfew on yourself.
Condemn yourself for imposing a
Curfew on your daughters and sisters,
Because the world is unsafe.

Condemn yourself,
Because you only created this
World.
Condemn yourself as you only made this
World unsafe.

Condemn yourself because you’re
Part of this world.
Condemn yourself because you’ve
Raped this world.

Comment Thought provoking! Hard hitting! In today's India, one would prefer to keep condemning oneself daily than not imposing curfews on dear ones due to sheer concern and kind of insecure environs we are living in...

Comment I like it. But, don't we get torn apart when we have to take responsibility for which we are very very very remotely responsible? People before us have suffered and we suffer. Will the future be better for our children? Let us wish so.
