  Remained under a scanner
For his misdemeanour and disrepute
A man with disproportionate assets
While he was in active service -
The chief of a statutory body now.

Tried for the moral turpitude
And a murder crime suspect
Contested for the federal elections
While he was still behind the bars -
An hon'ble member of parliament now.

A nondescript smart street guy
Ever since his early childhood days
Performs magic tricks, rites and rituals
So often in news for debatable integrity -
An accredited spiritual guru and leader now.

Mischievous and cunning as a boy
Never completed even high school
A frequent offender of civil laws
Pursued a career in glamour and stardom -
An accomplished actor and superstar now.

And there was:

A poet and writer par excellence
Worked for social justice whole life
Hailing from a poor and humble origin
Largely ignored, hand to mouth during life -
His works recognized posthumously now!

(This is a fictional work with no resemblance or reference to any living or dead person. This only depicts a trend in a land where a cult of man-worship and favouritism is so rampant in public life based on caste, creed, region and religion.)
