The night my doors were blown away by the storm
I didn’t know
It was you who had come to my home
It became dark all around
Blown out was my lamp
For whom did I stretch out my hand?

I remained in the dark
Thinking it was a dream
Did I know
It was your flag that was flying in the storm?
In the morning I found
It was you who was standing there
Filling the emptiness of my home.

Transcreation of song no. 67 - Je rate mor duarguli bhanglo jhare - from the collection Gitimalya by Rabindranath Tagore. Best recording of this song is by Debabrata Biswas. It has been used by Ritwik Ghatak in his famous film Meghe Dhaka Tara.
