It has been an arduous journey, sometimes uneven,
Extremes of joy have intermingled with frustration and sorrow,
If it had been a bed of roses, how boring it would have been,
With nothing to look forward to but a predictable morrow.
Mystical God in His cruel wisdom put together
Two strong-willed creatures to love each other
How can in peace and harmony two dissimilar souls live
And still aspire to maximize talent and growth to achieve.
Is it right? Is it possible? One may rightly wonder
Two minds with different thinking to harmoniously ponder
And yet matrimony enjoins on us to create this wonder
To witness the clash of two wills without breaking asunder.
However man-woman have defeated the design of the Creator
Done the seemingly impossible and lived amicably together
Enriched each other and their different values preached
In the process surprisingly the distant gates of happiness reached.
The bond of marriage is sacred and is permanent till we die
We fight, we make-up, we laugh and together cry
This is how we celebrate our closeness and togetherness
In our differences we find the lasting spirit of happiness.
