Karmic Relevance

To a nervous and disillusioned Arjuna,
Lord Krishna tells in the battlefield:
Just as the body changes old clothes
To wear new ones
The soul gives up a body
To transmigrate to a new one
A weapon can’t kill it
A fire can’t destroy it
For it is primeval and eternal
Unborn, changeless and immortal…

This being the essence
Of the very existence of life
What leaves within our control
Are our right karmic actions
Which one should try to perform
Without any favour or fear
Of any gain or loss
Fame or infamy
Union or separation
And life or death.
