Fame and Glory

For him, no crime or action is big –
Be it his opponents’ graves to dig,
Or an election he proceeds to rig -
All are part of his daily political gig.

His wily moves towards name and fame
Will beat a grand master of chess game.
Many an opponent he often checkmates,
Using pressure, pelf and power as baits.

Corruption charges and actions gory -
Enhance these days a politician’s glory.
Add to these, an ideally long prison term,
His ascent then is surely on a footing firm.

In fact, the more serious his offence,
The more it adds to his clout immense.
It improves his election winning chances,
As opponents view him with wary glances.

Power, money and fame are all he desires.
To win at any cost, his resources he fires.
With his conscience since long in the dust bin,
For him, politics is the best business to be in...
