Migratory Birds

  Floating birds, supportive wind
sky watches with care
Move en mass, glide in class
black spectacle rare
Elope in flock, migratory hopes
ride on guts and dare
One of a kind, together destined
to live and die and share

From nowhere, nesting everywhere
trees succumb in despair
Silent sky, humming breeze
attend to noisy affair
Spluttering echoes, chirping rhymes
distinct musical fare
Flip, flap-flap, chit chat-chat
write a song in the air

An evening descends, a morning ascends
in rousing avian fair
A day retires from flights of fancy
night rests unaware.
