I was super excited, it was his birthday,
He was supposed to meet me on the way,
But neither did he pick up my call,
Nor did he call me back, not at all!

Loving him was all that really mattered,
I was shattered, all my dreams scattered,
I felt neglected, humiliated and forlorn,
My fantasies, my hopes were all gone.

Till I realized, it’s nothing but a lesson,
God wants me to learn ‘liberation’,
I should be freed from my miseries, my pain,
Forgetting my sorrow I should smile again.

Silent tear drops clinging to my eye lashes,
In my mind his sweetest memory flashes,
I should forget the bitter, hold on to the sweeter,
So that only those honeyed memories glitter.

Some lessons should be learnt for spiritual growth,
God gives us such lessons to follow as an oath,
To achieve oneness with the Higher Soul,
Learning these lessons should be our goal!
