Arranged marriage of Indian heritage
Found 'Miss Missi' for me
And I was told, she was the brightest,
And my future wife to be!
I sighed a deep sigh at lunch,
Upon hearing the news
But didn't even get a chance
To think or express my views!
So I offered my nod to parents
Far away from the adapted land
To arrange the auspicious date
For placing mine on Missi's hand!
Song and dance went well
At completion of temple wedding
And we exchanged our vows
While putting on the nuptial ring!
A month later, Miss Missi came
As a resident in my beloved home
And was amazed at the marvels
Surrounding the house with gothic dome!
Days went by with laughs and giggles,
As they exist in heaven
And I thought life is a beach,
Without a thought of anything else even!
Five years down the road,
Our wedding vows changed
And Miss Missi became westernized,
When her dress codes changed!
Her spiritual values were replaced
By cosmetics and material thing
And soon we learned to offer
Our wedding ring a fling!
Rest of our love is in history
With the pictures that we took
And the saga became short listed
In New York's bestseller book!
No longer I dwell on the past,
Since Miss Missi is missing-
And enjoy my time with 'Cecei' **
When she is kissing!
Now, Cecei is the fragrance,
Adding spice to my soul-
And keeps me busy in the kitchen,
With pasta, soup and salad bowl!
