Candlelight Vigil For Gaza

Answer to precision bombing
came in a spirited candlelight vigil.
Candles running out of stock,
dying to burn instead.

How many candles for babies in the womb,
how many for waiting out,
how many for stone-hurling boys
cursing women, swearing men and limb-losing crowds.

The world's powerful after this culling resolved;
the mutilated spread terror in the civilized world,
social media must not upload the limbless
begging for mercy.

The world after all is one big village
fast turning into a cemetery
devouring all walls with meaning.

Only the wailing wall
sheds profuse tears for missing an easy target.
Gaza nonetheless, continues to be
a diminishing dot on the world map
with nobody left to cry.
A strong reason for a day night vigil
to count the living in place of the dead.
