New Moon

O Dear Moon,
I’m so enchanted
With your alternating
Waxing and waning moods!

I remain serene
And contented,
When I see you shining
Through your waxing phase.

But I don’t know why
I get somber and anxious
Watching you on the wane
From Full Moon to New Moon.
