  Gratification swallowed
my words
when I gifted my book  
to my teacher, humble,
now frail.  
His big eyes  
once filled mine  
took the turns
as he placed his hand
upon my head
again making mine
well up to the brim.
I ought to repay him much more
than I thought to be owing.
