Thorny Rose

A rose is beautiful
Till it is beheld
From afar;
If held closely,
It pricks the fingers
Lo! Throes ajar..!
Eyes weep not;
Yet heart does bleed,
For all its beauty
Those in love plead.
I want the rose,
All spines and thorns,
Prickles teach us
Never to lock horns. |

" There are so many emblems of the true love like - roses , satin heart , a cute card and so on used by many poets . . . I found a contrast between you and Duffy in the use of love symbols . . . In her poem "Valentine" Carol Ann Duffy has used an onion as love 's represetation but one thing is common that sometimes pain and grief are the part of real love. . As she writes " i ll give you an onion. . . Tears and grief are the part . .love. . . Wobbling photo of grief " and you write -" eyes weep not . . .spines and thorns. . Superb. ." --- Durga Patva, UP

" Bhaskerji I appreciate your weaving of words and laterally transformation into a poem which depicts the eternal truth hidden in the heart of a poet like u.I love your passions and febrications of words. The feelings and emotions express the melody and melancholy equally lying underneath the throat. My blessings and the same time my motivation is with u to ignite and catalyt your perception towads the enhlish gramming. Continue it as your ammunition to serve it.I" -- Anil Karn, Bokaro
