Mother of the universe
Stands motionless,
Smothered
Under the canopy
Ripped by deafening noises
Of daily dalliance,
And mindless merriment...

The Supreme Power
Behind the Creation
Lies helpless,
Overpowered
By the recurrent evil forces
Of the sensual world
Long inundated afar
With the blood of humanity

Remover of our miseries
Is being removed
With her spiritual value
From human life
By the malaise of the times -
Today faith is diseased
And conviction deceased.
