When Dry Leaves Fall

When dry leaves begin to fall
To new leaves they give a call
Thus in the forest of my life
In southern winds
Spring comes again and again
New songs in new tunes
Fly in the sky
In new colours new flowers blossom
O my ever new friend
I shall follow you in a new dress
When the lamp goes out at the end of the day
And my journey comes to an end
In the evening let your flute sing
And in the sky the stars shine.

Transcreation of the song – Jirna pata jabar belay bare bare – by Rabindranath Tagore.
