The Possible Dream

The recent flood of migrants from abroad
on to what appears the firm terrain
of a dream, to be dashed on the shores
of reality, is but, if we could
communicate with them, our everyday experience.

Here too, the dream is grounded on the hard
practical terms of daily survival
fuelled on cash; the home possessed of dreams
converts into materiality
of mortgage; here too there are droves of migrants.

In the west, technology waves fantasy’s
magic wand, buildings soar, vehicles glide,
personalities thrive as images
drawing dominant societal affections,
and life is about top drawer sport and entertainment.

It may not be a homely place, the west,
but it is kind, void of inhumanity’s
bedevilment; one can once again move
freely, incognito on city pavements,
rub shoulders with the modern species of man.

Possible dream of living in western country to fulfil one's desire is quite practical indeed! Modern species of man surely likes to be so living in such sophisticated place in a simple incognito way!
