Sitting in a country garden With roses and with tea And the birds they are awaiting For a crumb or two from me
The summer sun behind me The table set before The tablecloth is over Constantia I adore
The flat top of the mountain The Fynbos all around Kirstenbosch is nestling Beneath this sacred ground
Cold water to the western shore Warm water to the east The Cape in all it's glory For your eyes to feast
Apostles are a feature From the rugged coast From Hout Bay I can picture it The place I love the most
Sitting in this country garden With roses and with tea I'd place a little wager, you would rather be here with me.
This poem is about the beauty of Cape Town and Western Cape, South Africa.
