The Ego

The ego is the me
That wants to be
A big star,
And go far.

So it's misbehaving,
And often craving
For your attention,
I must mention.

It's always up to
Something new,
And may annoy you
With what it'll do.

It's not at peace
So it won't cease
From running around;
It continues to astound.

It isn't easy to control
And annoys my soul -
Who do I call
Before I fall?
