Bridging Past and Present

When light deflects night

moon looks emaciated

like the yolk and white from egg

that fell and broke in the sky

yet it envies its own past

not being able to set aside

the excitement of glory at night

as entire globe looked at it in awe

paralyzed by desire;

waning or waxing, maybe

its memory bright like a new promise

serves as a bridge

between the present and past.
