The Phoenix

  I still quiver when I
Remember those fateful days
Of separation of our ways...
The body was frozen
The mind was numb
And eyes were still
As if nothing was left
But ashes...

But I rose with time
And, in fact, rose like a phoenix...

Learnt to live a meaningful life
Without the person loved most
Tirelessly worked for hours
Giving a purpose to life
And picked up a pen too
To write the saga of our love
In an indelible ink
That can never be erased.
