A power outage that's lasting
Is suddenly casting
Grief over modern living
By unexpectedly giving
Internet that's irking,
Traffic lights not working,
Elevators to dread,
Telephones going dead,
Refrigerators taking a break,
Air-conditioners giving an ache,
Generators making noise,
And people losing poise
With televisions so still -
What a bitter pill!
