Time peels off the well-cared skin
Of a beautiful face
Layer after layer
Turning those chubby cheeks
Into wrinkles
That too finally melt like ice;
Dimples so deepen
As if they were kissing the bony nadir.

Facing silent slaps of time,
The loving face is eroded,
Placed naked into the garb
Of ultimate reality.
Bereft of the pulp, pomp 'n' show
The structure shows its teeth
Seemingly laughing
At the futility of life and the world.
