Two strangers met in life
As co-travellers for a while
He saw her after aeons
Though her eyes still had
Same magnetic charm and shine
But the dark circles around
And deepening wrinkles on face
Narrated altogether a different tale...

After the usual courtesy
And exchange of pleasantries
She couldn't resist but ask
How his life was without her

His reply came with a wry smile
He is still trying to fathom
If it was a friend's love
Or love turned into a friendship!

The man is always bemused
But the woman is not....
