What Do I Do?

Chastened not by the deaths of my dear ones
but by the love my friends shower on me.

When I write on Hindu-Muslim topics
they rush to all sides seeking ladders for me to touch the sky 
and when I shed light on their  mischievous ways
they flee as storm-tossed clouds. 
 
I have lost faith in my people.
What do I do? 
Still stick to my old plan or turn my face from them for good
and wheel my own tyres?
