Unseasonal

Did you hear the unseasonal rain

battering your rooftop

bouncing down the catastrophic

path our ecological footprints have made?

And did you see it

cascading down diminishing trees

in silvery tassels?

Did you dance to its wanton presence?

Or did your heart lament with the farmers

their futures being ruthlessly washed away?

The thunder bellowed a warning

to our species. Will you heed its voice?

We bound undismayed up the rungs

of exploitation and extradition

threatening the survival of every other species

Can we backtrack? At least correct our course

to help diffuse the volatile patterns

of unseasonal seasons?

Reshape the evolution of our civilisation

and save posterity from further damage?
