Theme: Imagination

The Imaginations of Us

I am aware that my presence
On this planet is temporary

I must be ready for the
Final journey
Today or tomorrow

The other words like
Heaven, hell, salvation
Are all imaginary
And they don't belong
To me

Affections, love, last
As long as I last;
Associations, bonds, tuned hearts,
Passions and dispassion;
Just are of that short duration

"Unions, separations
Are all destined
And are results of our
Previous actions"

Whether one believes
This or not, I and others
Don't differ much in living

Whether one understands
Philosophies, spirituality or not
The end is same for all

Action, devotion, realization,
Theistic or atheistic;
All get dissolved,
As all the "forces" of the chess
Are put back in the box

This play is not
Out of my volition
I am given an opportunity
That's all

What happens next,
What remains and
What disappears

Are all fancies of the mind;
The unconfirmed sayings
Of the elders and
The imaginations of us

Comment Nobody has discovered what happens next to one's death. All ideas based on intellect or imagination are only some guesses only sans any proof to say they are true or false! All ideas are opinions only ! No one is permanent here! That is sure! So, all should be ready to face anything! Cry or fear cannot solve anything or change this natural diktat for all in this world! Let us live well and die in peace!

Comment Guru Nanak in his Japji Sahib
has a few lines which need reflection
in context of this poem:

a) Bahuta Kahiye, Bahuta Hoye
(The more we talk, the more it becomes)

b) Kete Kah Kah Uth Uth Jaye
(Innumerable came, sermonizing, but finally left)
