Fawn and Doe

The fawn is wholly engrossed with its mother
In the latter’s cozy comfort and care
Absolutely carefree as also unaware
While sucking from her opulent udder…

The doe is affectionately feeding her fawn
Yet she is quite nervous and vigilant
She is aware of the hostile environment
Enemies looming large with latent threat.

This rather rare photo of a stray Neelgaay (a type of antelope) feeding her calf was taken by me few days back in our vicinity.
