Contentment

by Kulbir Bhalla

Contentment is the only cure

Which will work, for sure,

When the mind is on fire,

Fueled by desire.

So to make the mind quiet,

Go on a desireless diet,

By meditating every day

And keeping desires away.

Just a couple of days ago, I came across a quote by Buddha: “Those who act with few desires are calm, without worry or fear”.

The end of desire is the end of sorrow....and the beginning of contentment.
