To me, people of all lands and hues seem rolled alike in Satan’s visage.
Our scriptures preached keeping our souls untainted,
But we leave our conscience with soot of guilt painted.
We don't bother to keep immaculate the linen of our sullied souls
With detergents of noble thoughts to aim for the higher goals.
Our gospels stand for righteousness;
While we stand for anything but this.

Gandhi taught us “Means must justify the end”.
We are but epitomes of “End justifies the means”.
Bible taught how a camel through the eye of a needle can pass.
The gates of the kingdom of heaven do a rich man harass.
But in Kaliyuga one prizes the power of wealth above all.
The holy Bible taught: “The meek shall inherit the earth”.
Mankind sets its goals to be anything but ‘meek’.
Meekness in the world of today is shunned as weakness.
We are thus having a life without life;
Knowledge shorn of wisdom;
Information bereft of knowledge.
The tidings of murder of our kindreds close;
Sends us into rhapsodies great.
All seven deadly sins find a verdant growth in Kaliyuga;
Rendered shelterless, the virtues seek a refuge in the world.
Man has large hoardings of knowledge;
But has lost his wisdom in the jungle of knowledge.
Pity the man who has lost track of even knowledge
In the piles of information.
Pity further the man who likes to live longer a life sans life.
Pity the man who craves for the life of Tithonus.
All seven deadly sins find in Kaliyuga a verdant growth,
Conscience feels badly muffled up; prays for a Knight errant
Who can save her from perpetual asphyxia.
Rendered shelterless, Virtue prays for its second coming,
That it can be blessed with a life booming. |
