Moments are the essence of life.

They fill our space
wafting the fragrance of jasmine into our souls.

Moments are unique
some extended
others brief or cherished.
Some, when captured, are merely a paper image
of their actual selves.

If not captured, most seem to vanish
unless our emotions call them to present.

Moments
like people
have their own qualities.

Good moments are usually the easiest to recall
pleasing in nature and worthy of our attention.

Other moments,
although not cherished,
may surface
to help us maintain equilibrium.

We will cup these slivers in our hands
when we can
and move them with us so they will not vanish.

Distinctive
they are imbued with a life
which travels eternally
in the memories of those departed.
