A river that can threaten to inundate the earth
And force Bhagiratha, Brahma and Shiva,
To contain her impetuosity,

A river that can knit the Milky Galaxy
And the mountains together
With the unshorn tresses of Nilkantha,

A river that can provide sustenance
To all who swim, fly or saunter,
And still possess the power to purify,

A river that can erase karma, and
Offer moksha to everyone
Is just no ordinary river!
