  To take away and hurt
Just burn your loss with a smile
Modify your gleaming dust
And pay with all contempt

If it cost you your life
Just to redeem your soul
By all means, take the deal
Cause I've learned to start to feel

So far away from an empty bottle
I know it's not who I am
But after I've reasoned with myself
I've put them back upon my shelf

Because we are what we're made of
We've got love from far away
To know the benefit of the doubt
Is better than always going without

Such pressure here in a fading corpse
And knowing my reality's not real
It's empty if we do not give in
But to cure myself from all this sin

I'd take the word and reform it
An envisioned strength in hardened steel
But we're not all what we say
Trying to get by without getting away

I put myself to blame on things
Many issues to make me think
I'll raise my head and look around
Knowing that I've not backed down

If your heart beats and it's the truth
Though the center's giving in
I know it's not what we're made of
But of the things that we should love

The games could never end I know
A winner every time for sure
So if I put my foot down again
I'm sure enough as not to end

Numb the wound and stop the blood
Of course it won't be enough
But if we all work hard and share
I'm sure we can go everywhere

Unfortunately there are a few
Who put up the roadblocks in our path
I know how to blow them down
And build them up when we're past
