Won't you Love me?

Won't you Love me2.jpg
If God gave you two large deep dark eyes
Even by mistake won't they fall on me?
He also gave you two lovely feet
Each of them is like a lotus in full bloom
They waste their mercy on the dusty earth
Won't they fall on my path?
Charmed by your charming voice
Your creator added to it a lot of honey
If you put your sweet lips to my ears
And softly whisper only a word or two -
'Dearest' or 'dear'
Will it cause the loss of an iota of that honey?
Like a stream of sweet water
Your sweet laughter always cascades
And your eyes are filled with heavenly love
If God created so much sweetness
Won't it quench my thirst?

Translation of the humourous love song - Bidhi dagor ankhi jodi diyechhilo seki amar pore bhule poribe na - by Rabindranath Tagore.
