  Late afternoon while driving
home red sun begins to set,
and people trapped on highways
feel their lives are a regret.

They wonder if they do get home
what family trials will be,
and good news, rarely known
won't show up on T.V.

The children will be hungry
and the mutt will need a walk,
while fish and rice cook on the stove
the wife begins to bark.

They'll see a list of soldiers
while watching home T.V.,
a list of men, girls and boys
now in eternity.

The anchorman will tell of all
the progress that's been made,
while streets full of corpses
are frequently displayed.
