To Love in Denial

Her gorgeous beauty haunted my hidden emotions
In search of a contact for reward
She like others exposed
I sneaked through to unwind yet go unnoticed
That was not to be!
My betrothed trailed me and traced our steps back home
Hastened we tie our knot
Nonetheless in silence she knew my mind and heart was out there
In the narrow alleyway free for all
Worrisome and socially unacceptable!
I follow my heart
Alert to my emotions she declines all except me
Our moments of togetherness enriched
We part to meet yet again!
One fine day my childhood friend invites us to meet his wife
We meet in absolute shock
Our eyes meet my wife hers mine
We part in utter embarrassment
We stride parallel ways
To seek out that which will not be
Our three hearts will forever bleed!
