Say thanks, my child,
thank uncle for the chocolate.
‘Thank you, uncle’,
a sweet voice emerged
from two little twinkling eyes.
My reward, oh little one!
is not word of compliment,
but the spark on your face
and the sight of your delight!
The very gift of life,
its myriad joys and sorrows,
the earth, the sky, the ocean
and all that spread around me…
whom shall I thank for all these?
Sitting on the bank of your eyes
when I view the dawn of love,
say dear, are there any yardsticks
the depth of your heart to measure?
