Sometimes
When you stand at night
By the shore of the Ganga
Eagerly waiting for a boat
To take you where
Everyone is going, and
You see
The oil lamps rocking
On its surface
In the dark,

You feel a startling touch
Of some archetypal force
Turning you
Towards an unknown path
Leading you
Through a watery gateway
Towards moksha and
For a moment you wonder
If this is the time to step aside,
Or continue your earthly sojourn.
